Internationally renowned classical guitarist Martha Masters has built a career defined by expressive depth, artistic versatility, and a commitment to expanding the guitar’s presence on the concert stage. She first gained international recognition in 2000 when she won First Prize at the Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition and the Andrés Segovia International Competition in Linares, Spain, and was named a finalist in the Alexandre Tansman International Competition of Musical Personalities in Poland.

Since then, Masters has maintained an active international career as a soloist, chamber musician, and concerto performer, appearing on major concert series and festivals throughout the United States, Europe, Russia, China, and Australia. Her performances are noted for their clarity of musical vision, expressive range, and thoughtful engagement with both canonical and contemporary repertoire.

Masters has released seven recordings on the Naxos and GSP labels and authored three pedagogical publications with Mel Bay Publications and Alfred Music. Her work as a performer is closely connected to her roles as an educator, conductor, and arts advocate, informing a broader artistic vision grounded in collaboration, leadership, and access.
